Requirements for Membership
To be eligible for Active Membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM), an individual must fulfill one of the conditions outlined below:
- GRADUATION FROM A TWO YEAR CSNM ACCREDITED PROGRAM IN FOOD SERVICE AND NUTRITION MANAGEMENT:
The graduate will be required to complete an application for active membership, the non-refundable application fee and proof of successful completion of the two year accredited program by attaching a copy of your diploma/degree. Anyone who graduates from a two year accredited program more than TWO YEARS PRIOR to date of application will be required to also include a copy of the transcript of marks and will be required to write the CSNM entrance examination, and must obtain the minimum passing grade. - GRADUATION FROM A POST SECONDARY PROGRAM OTHER THAN ONE OF OUR ACCREDITED PROGRAMS WHICH WILL BE DEMONSTRATED TO CONTAIN ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF FOOD SERVICE AND NUTRITION MANAGEMENT:
The candidate will be required to complete an application for active membership, the required non-refundable application fee and proof of successful completion of the college or university program (copies of transcripts, copy of degree/diploma, and a course syllabus and/or course outline). If the candidate meets the criteria, they will be required to write the CSNM examination, and must obtain the minimum passing grade. Applicant must be a Canadian resident in order to write the CSNM examination
International Applicants: The applicant will be required to complete an application for active membership, provide the required non-refundable application fee and proof of successful completion of the college or university program (copies of diploma/degree, transcripts and a copy of syllabus and/or course outline. It is also required that when you apply for membership with the CSNM that you have your credential assessments (diploma/degree, transcripts and course syllabus and/or course outline) assessed by a Credential Evaluation Service, such as British Columbia Institute Technology (BCIT) http://www.bcit.ca/ices/ (we require the 'Basic Report') or the International Credential Assessment Service (ICES) of Canada http://icascanada.ca , or World Education Services (WES), (we require the 'General Report') to evaluate your application. You must submit a copy of this report in addition to copies of your diploma/degree and transcripts.
